Another Successful Mixed Container

This is my second large container and again I tested to see if mixing different crops in one container would work. It did! In this big Bertha, I mixed Arugula (a green leaf crop), carrots and onions (root crops) and the soil has drastically improved and produced lush greens and veggies. The netting on the edge of the container along with the shade cloth during summer has created the perfect environment for this container protecting it from rodents and harsh sun. I also added blood meal as an amendment along with Sul-Po-Mag (0-0-22) potassium, and bone meal. As you can see it’s thriving.

Arugula Apple Salad: Fresh Arugula leaves, sliced apples, feta cheese, sunflower seeds, and Italian dressing is the perfect refreshing salad during the summer!
